#MIXTAPE060 – Gay Ole Opry 2012

With the third Brooklyn Gay Ole Opry coming up this Friday, October 5th, the queer country music scene is going strong! Here’s a mix of songs from bands who have played the Opry or the Queer Country Monthly—and a few we’ve been stalking in hopes they’ll come play soon!

Friday’s Gay Ole Opry features local musicians Karen & the Sorrows, Nath Ann Carrera, Julia Read, Lindsey Wilson, and Wiley Gaby, as well as a two-stepping lesson and dancing with DJ Andrew Boorstyn of the Big Apple Ranch (New York’s long-running LGBT country western dance), a bake sale to benefit the Sylvia Rivera Law Project, and an all-Dolly-Parton raffle. The show starts at 8:00pm sharp on Friday, October 5th at Littlefield, 622 Degraw Street, Brooklyn. Tickets are $10. For more info, see www.gayoleopry.com or RSVP on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/events/341957519232675
